KNOWLEDGE – SAFETY – CONFIDENCE
At Hat Trick Training, we strive to provide the necessary knowledge for new gun owners to understand the basics of handguns as well as all gun owners to understand the mindset to responsibly carry a firearm for self-protection. Hat Trick Training is approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety as an organization authorized to certify instructors and individuals for Minnesota’s Permit to Carry.
“Hat Trick”, isn’t that a hockey term?
Why yes, yes it is. In hockey, a hat trick is three goals in one game. At Hat Trick Training, our three goals are Knowledge, Safety, and Confidence. The knowledge to understand firearms, the laws governing their use, and the mindset needed to carry a firearm. Safety is imperative since guns are an inherently dangerous tools that needs to be handled with respect. Finally, the confidence to carry responsibly, every day.
Testimonials
We Had Fun!
Doug, thank you for the permit class. My wife and I enjoyed it and both thought it was thorough and very informative. And, as a plus, we had fun. She was very nervous about the shoot but said you made it easy and helped her have the confidence to do it. We are very glad about the experience and would definitely recommend your class to others.
Doug Is Very Well Spoken
Thank you for all the information you gave us today. Learned a lot of things I wasn’t aware of.
I really don’t have any negative feedback at all!
Things you did well we’re as follows:
I will contact you for a couple of lessons when I purchase a pistol.
Best PTC Class I’ve Experienced
I came with to support my wife and to be there if she had questions in case there were some things left uncovered, as I have experienced this in the past with classes I have been through over the years. I can say with 100% certainty this was the best and most informative PTC class I have experienced. You did an amazing job and this helped my wife understand some of the things I do on a daily basis to be prepared. Your color chart for being alert is great, I think every instructor should use this! It needs to be out there for all to see. When I'm at a job that no longer provides my class for me I will be reaching out to you. I may reach out to for some more one on one classes for myself and my wife.
Nonbiased Presentation
Thank you for the informative Permit to Carry class. The topics and discussion was very helpful for anyone considering using a handgun. I appreciated your nonbiased presentation of the legal and moral facts and responsibilities of gun ownership.
So Knowledgeable
It was such a pleasure to meet you Doug and participate in your class!! You are so knowledgeable and took the time to help us and explain things thoroughly to us. We may even call upon you for some continued training!! I am giving your info to my brother who is interested in taking your class.
FAQs
No, but it is best if you have your own firearm. Any caliber will do for the class. If you need to borrow one of my guns, I can set you up with a 9mm or a .22LR pistol. Just let me know before the class.
What states will recognize my Minnesota Permit To Carry?
Your MN Permit To Carry is recognized in good amount of states. Since the list of states changes from time to time, we go over the permit reciprocity map in detail during your class.
No, your class fee covers the class, range fee, and your certificate of completion. The only "extra” fees would be the fee you pay to your county when you apply for your permit.
What if I am not ready to carry a firearm yet?
Even if you are not ready to carry a firearm on a daily basis, our Permit To Carry is also a great gun safety class. You will benefit from the modules on safety, mindset, self-defense, and situational awareness
