KNOWLEDGE – SAFETY – CONFIDENCE
At Hat Trick Training, we strive to provide the necessary knowledge for new gun owners to understand the basics of handguns as well as all gun owners to understand the mindset to responsibly carry a firearm for self-protection. Hat Trick Training is approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety as an organization authorized to certify instructors and individuals for Minnesota’s Permit to Carry.
“Hat Trick”, isn’t that a hockey term?
Why yes, yes it is. In hockey, a hat trick is three goals in one game. At Hat Trick Training, our three goals are Knowledge, Safety, and Confidence. The knowledge to understand firearms, the laws governing their use, and the mindset needed to carry a firearm. Safety is imperative since guns are an inherently dangerous tools that needs to be handled with respect. Finally, the confidence to carry responsibly, every day.
Testimonials
As a Past Permit Holder, I Took Away New Education
Thank you for the class today. The education, comfort level, and professionalism of the class were excellent. As a past permit holder, I was able to take away new and educating information. The range testing was very comfortable and fun. Thank you again Doug.
Never Boring
Your class was very interesting and informative. I learned a lot and it was never boring.
We Had Fun!
Doug, thank you for the permit class. My wife and I enjoyed it and both thought it was thorough and very informative. And, as a plus, we had fun. She was very nervous about the shoot but said you made it easy and helped her have the confidence to do it. We are very glad about the experience and would definitely recommend your class to others.
The Class Was Great
Hey Doug, thank you. The class was great today. I appreciate the extra tips when we were shooting too.
BEST Minnesota Permit to Carry Class
I have just completed one of the BEST Minnesota Permit to Carry classes ever! It was given by Doug Taylor. Through the years I have gone through many classes but this particular one hit right to the heart of gun safety and knowledge that I truly needed to understand and appreciate as an American with his/her right to bear arms. Not just for the sake of carrying a gun but to protect my loved ones, others in danger, and myself. In the difficult times we share now, we need more secure knowledge of just what we can do to keep gun safety and their use on the “good” side of the law, to keep our children and families safe. I learned so much more in-depth about how several types of guns operate, proper handling and sighting in on these guns I never knew before, how to prepare my mindset for future unexpected encounters that I may face along my life’s journey. I am better prepared now than I ever was before, thanks, Doug Taylor. Truly in my books one of the best Permit to Carry instructor and class ever!
FAQs
No, but it is best if you have your own firearm. Any caliber will do for the class. If you need to borrow one of my guns, I can set you up with a 9mm or a .22LR pistol. Just let me know before the class.
What states will recognize my Minnesota Permit To Carry?
Your MN Permit To Carry is recognized in good amount of states. Since the list of states changes from time to time, we go over the permit reciprocity map in detail during your class.
No, your class fee covers the class, range fee, and your certificate of completion. The only "extra” fees would be the fee you pay to your county when you apply for your permit.
What if I am not ready to carry a firearm yet?
Even if you are not ready to carry a firearm on a daily basis, our Permit To Carry is also a great gun safety class. You will benefit from the modules on safety, mindset, self-defense, and situational awareness
