I enjoyed the class and I learned more than in my first class. This was my 3rd class I have taken and the first with you.

I appreciate all your patience and having a preset shooting drill schedule.  I think as far as getting more comfortable with the pistol, I definitely accomplished that. I will be practicing a couple of times a month, I will reach out with questions and maybe another shooting lesson.

I came with to support my wife and to be there if she had questions in case there were some things left uncovered, as I have experienced this in the past with classes I have been through over the years.  I can say with 100% certainty this was the best and most informative PTC class I have experienced. You did an amazing job and this helped my wife understand some of the things I do on a daily basis to be prepared. Your color chart for being alert is great, I think every instructor should use this! It needs to be out there for all to see.  When I’m at a job that no longer provides my class for me I will be reaching out to you. I may reach out to for some more one on one classes for myself and my wife.

I’d like to take a moment to let you know how much I appreciated the gun knowledge and safety class that you presented. I went into the class at the request of a friend with whom I’d gone to a shooting range. She emphasized the importance of gun knowledge and safety, and that I was pretty much a neophyte in gun knowledge.  While I disagreed and thought I knew most everything I needed to know beforehand, I was really taken back by how much I really did not know.   The overview and specifics of gun handling, the vast number of sizes, calibers, functioning, mechanisms, owning and carrying regulations, liabilities, and insurance were all new to me. The emphasis on safety and legal aspects were especially enlightening. You made it interesting with some anecdotal examples. In other words, it became an entertaining learning experience. We’ll be in contact with you for some individual instruction after I get my permit.

Thank you so much for your permit to carry class. It was most informative. I really learned a lot.

Doug, you did a great job giving us the needed information. You made sure the class understood gun safety. You provided up-to-date information on MN. License to Carry Laws. I personally liked the one-on-one shooting range instructions. Well done.

Thank you for the wonderful class today. It was very informative and I feel much more comfortable with me and Austin getting our permit and handguns.  

I thought the permit to carry class put on by Doug Taylor was well done.  Doug is very knowledgeable in the topic presented. You can tell throughout the class that he is very passionate about gun safety and about protecting you and yours. Doug also has credentials and training from several different organizations which helps with his presentation and to answer the class’s questions.    Doug used real-life examples to communicate the point he was trying to make.  I will be recommending to all of my friends who are interested in getting a permit to carry to take Doug’s class.

Thanks again Doug for Saturday morning at the VFW. You were very knowledgeable in the presentation of weapons and how to use them. It was very impressive how you made a point in saying that every gun should be treated as if it is loaded. When you were explaining something from a different piece of equipment, you would always check to see that it was not loaded even though we all knew it. I don’t know how much I’m going to carry, but it sure impressed me on how you could carry that small weapon of yours and not have it be so obvious. Again appreciated your presentation today.

I thought you did a great job of going through the basics and inserting real-life examples for clarification. Due to the covid pandemic, I thought the classroom you set up was ideal and I felt safe. I appreciated your instruction at the range. I also appreciated the fact that you didn’t talk down to me or belittle me for my lack of experience.

Doug, we really enjoyed your class.  Hard to believe that it was 3.5 hours long, the time flew by as the class had a great pace and you talked to the class, not at the class.   After leaving the range today, I went and bought a Glock 43. The couple next to me laughed when I told them our instructor told the husbands to let their wives buy their own guns. Bill and I are excited to get some range time to tighten up our shooting. Thanks again, we are thrilled that we completed your class.

I loved your class and found it to be very informative! I highly recommend a husband and wife team attend it together. My husband and I spent the weekend giving each other additional information and having further discussions on safety.   I am looking forward to learning how to target shoot and spending more time in the field.  I will refer you to family and friends.

The permit to carry class you taught was excellent. As a retired Army Officer the safety of my men was always paramount. You treated us as if we were your soldiers and ensured we were given a great safety message but also kept it real and relatable. Getting the permit to carry brings great responsibility to the permit holder but also will help us defend ourselves if necessary.

Thanks for the great course. I found it highly informative and beneficial. I was on the fence about carrying but with the way the world is now and the direction it appears to be going I now feel that I need to carry, especially for my family.

Doug was kind enough to let me put together a private class for myself and other agents in my office. I along with others in class thought Doug did a fantastic job teaching the class. To be honest I thought it would be pretty boring but it was actually the opposite! We learned a lot of great information and he gave us many recourses too. I would highly recommend Doug!

I have been around guns all of my life, but I purchase a handgun last year out of interest in the hobby of shooting and home protection.  I attended Doug’s class because I wanted to get training in the proper use and safety associate with the ownership of a firearm.   The class that Doug gave was an excellent presentation of what I was looking for. His style and approach to training was thorough and thoughtful.  I highly recommend Hat Trick Training to anyone serious about learning about the proper use and safety of owning a firearm.
